Dover - Tamara Collins, 87, of Dover, NH passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 3, 1934, in Stalingrad, Russia, Tamara was the daughter of the late Dimitre and Josephine (Thierer) Kolgade.
At the age of just 17, Tamara was given the chance to move to seek refuge in the United States and start a new life. She took that opportunity and made the absolute most of it. Tamara attended school and met a man by the name of John F. Collins. They were happily married for 65 years. Tamara was also a woman of great faith and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Dover.
In her free time, Tamara enjoyed putting together meals for her family, and she was known for her amazing culinary skills. She also loved working in her vegetable garden, especially on her beloved tomato plants. In retirement, Tamara and her late husband, John, also thoroughly enjoyed their trips to the casinos with the Dover Seniors Club.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bill Collins and Karen Collins; daughter-in-law, Dorothea "Doke" Collins; and two grandsons, Samuel and Thomas Collins.
Calling hours are from 10 AM - 11 AM on Friday, December 31, at St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave, Dover, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM on Friday at the church, with burial to follow at New St. Mary Cemetery in Dover.
