Lois Arlene (Downing, Hyatt) Williams, 81, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her residence in Coldwater, KS. Born January 27, 1941, at Wilmore, KS, she was the daughter of James Alonzo and Erma Eugene (Keller) Downing.

Lois was raised in Wilmore, KS and was in the last graduating class from Wilmore High School in 1959. She later enrolled at Pratt Community College in 1988, earning an Associates Degree in Applied Science in 1991.

She married Jimmie Lee Hyatt on June 14, 1959. Four children were born to this union: Sherrill Lynne in 1960, Terri Leigh in 1962, Karla Kae in 1964, and Jimmie Lee in 1973.

Lois lived in Wellington, KS, for 14 years, where she worked for a mobile home firm and also an airplane parts manufacturing firm, doing bookkeeping and accounting, before starting a daycare center, which she ran for 2 years. She also worked for the police department.

In 1980, she moved to Coldwater, KS. She married Don Williams on August 16, 1980, which added step-children: Shelly, Mark, and Mike.

In Coldwater, she worked as a grocery clerk, bus driver, and delivered newspapers for many years, until realizing a calling into the medical field. She started her medical career in 1978 at Protection Valley Manor, and from there worked at Pioneer Lodge, Comanche County Hospital, Fort Dodge, Pratt Regional Medical Center, and as a private care giver in many homes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Jimmie Lee Hyatt and Donald Wayne Williams; one daughter: Sherrill Lynne Hyatt; one son: Jimmie Lee "Skipper" Hyatt; and one step-son: Mark Williams.

Lois is survived by two daughters: Terri (Hyatt) Heft of Coldwater, KS and Karla (Hyatt) Harvey of Wichita, KS; step-children: Shelly Newton and family, Mike Williams and family, and Mark Williams (deceased) family; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be no viewing or services by request of Lois. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association.
