"Mrs. Ida B. Dewey
In her 84th year Mrs. Ida B. Dewey of Green Street died Tuesday night at Cuba Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since Saturday. She had been in in health for a long time.
Mrs. Dewey was born in the Town of Friendship, Feb. 24, 1855, the daughter of William O. and Clarissa Rice Butts. Her first husband was Oscar Whitney, who died many years ago. Her second husband was Charles Dewey, also deceased. Her life has been passed in Clarksville, Geneseo, Corning and Middletown and in Cuba since 1925.
Mrs. Dewey is survived by a son, William Whitney of Olean, two grandchildren, Mrs. Marion Johnson, Bradford, Pa.; and Miss Dorothy Whitney, Washington, D. C.; also by several great-grandchildren. She leaves a brother, Charles Butts, Washington; D. C; and four sisters, Mrs. Winifred Love, Cuba; Mrs. George Greer, Bolivar; Mrs. Ellen Wixson, Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Mabel Wixson, Olean.
Mrs. Dewey, who Is remembered with regard and esteem by her neighbors, was a member of the Baptist Church, the minister of which, the Rev. Clarence B. Gilbert, will conduct the funeral service at the Loveridge Funeral Home tomorrow, Friday, at 2 p. m. Burial will be at Alfred Cemetery."
