Mr. Leonard GarnL Bennett, Sr., 74, died Monday (January 9, 2012) at his residence after an extended illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Ware County. He was formerly employed by George Dempsey Ford as a mechanic.

He is the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Bennett and Lottie Huggins Bennett. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Marcell Lee; and one brother, Melvin Bennett.

Survivors include three daughters, Diane Quinlan (husband Tom) of Jacksonville, FL, Lottie Driskell (husband David) of Dallas, GA, and Trish Bennett of Waycross; two sons, Leonard G. Bennett, Jr. of Columbus, OH, and Jesse Trull (wife Gloria) of Hoboken; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday (January 13, 2012) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Millwood. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
