A life-long resident of Atlanta, "Jackie" graduated from Atlanta Girls High School in June 1943. She was a member of Candler Park Baptist Church, where she met the love of her life, Ralph Blanchard. They were married by Dr. Lester Brown on August 24, 1945 and enjoyed 70 years together.

Jackie was a member of Candler Park, Clairmont Hills, and Briarlake Baptist churches. She was a member of the New Horizon Bible Class. In addition to the rhythm of church life, Jackie served for several years as a Director of the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Her love for Christ led to many acts of kindness, most often accompanied by the gift of her cooking. Jackie was known far and wide for her famous pound cake and brownies!

Jackie is survived by her sons, Patrick (spouse Susan) and Michael (spouse Jean); her grandchildren, Brian (spouse Sabrina), Sean, Kenneth, Christopher and Timothy; her great granddaughter, Emmersyn; her nieces, Carol Thornburg and Christine Thompson; and a nephew, William R. Cole. She will be especially missed by her best and dearest friend, Gladys Cook.

The service to celebrate the life of Jacqueline Anita Blanchard was held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA, with her favorite pastor and friend, Rodney Webb, officiating. Entombment at Eternal Hills. The family received friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM until the time of service 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
It was Jackie's wish that as an alternative to flowers that her life be celebrated as she lived it alongside her husband – doing acts of kindness for others.
