Catherine's journey of life began on January 02, 1953 to the late Lonnie Sharpe and the late Ervie Dean Jenkins in Edgecombe County. She earned her wings on February 14, 2015 at 5:27am at Vidant Inpatient Hospice.

Catherine lived in Pinetops, NC, where she met the love of her life, David Earl Miles, and married on July 02, 1971. From this union, four children were born. In October of 1984, Mr. & Mrs. Miles moved to Greenville, NC, where they presently reside.

Catherine attended Edgecombe County Schools and earned her GED from Pitt Community College in 1996.

Catherine was employed at Black & Decker for twenty-five years in Tarboro, NC until the plant closed. She later was employed at Goody's Clothing Store from 1998-1999. Catherine's dream came true when she became the proud owner of the famous "Kat's Kitchen" from 2003-2006. Her final employment was with TJ Maxx Clothing Store from 2007-2011. Catherine's passion was cooking and loving other individuals.

Catherine made Christ the head of her life in September of 1975 at Pine Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E. L. Powell, where she served as a faithful Sunday School, Bible Study, and Senior Choir member, until becoming a member of Philippi Church of Christ in 1995. She served on the Motherboard and later preached her initial sermon on February 21, 2010, under the leadership of Bishop Randy B. Royal.

When one thinks of Catherine Miles, such words come to mind: loving, caring, selfless, anointed, kind, generous, encouraging, supportive, honest, stylish, graceful and genuine. But most important of all, Catherine was prayer warrior, a woman of faith, anointed, saved and a general in God's Army.

Catherine was preceded in death by her step-father, William Jenkins; six siblings, Edward Thomas Sharpe, Donnie Sharpe, Larry Vines, Charles Vines, John Farmer, Shirley Epps; father-in-law, David Miles; sister-in-law, Doris White Farmer.

Catherine leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of forty-three years, David Earl Miles of the home; four children, Anita Farmer of Winterville, NC, Terrance Miles (Ericka) of District Heights, Maryland, Towana Dunning (Theo) of Winterville, NC, Michelle Fuller (Rodney) of Winston Salem, NC; eleven grandchildren, Dermont, LaQuina, Darius, Bria, Terrence, Onteja, Xavier, Emani, Deasia, Mattzi, Morgan; two great grands, Aubrey and Amari; thirteen sisters, Hazil Vann, Betty Everette (Paul), Regina Garrett (Lorenzo), MaryAnn Vines, Liz Parker, Patricia Cobb (James), June Moore, Laverne Vines, Joyce Fox, Carolyn Austin (Tone), Ida Horne (James), Valerie Horne (Danny), Angela McNair (William); eight brothers, George Farmer (Janie), Woody Vines (Nivea), Grady Farmer, Lonnie Sharpe ( ), Dennis Sharpe, Jerry Farmer (Christie), Timothy Farmer (Angela), Marvin Vines; mother-in-law, Helen Miles; siblings-in-law, Scott Miles, Johnny Miles, Laforest Miles (Ben), Deborah Campbell (Cleveland), Glenn Miles (Alice), Peggy Campbell (Rick); special nieces, Tara Farmer, Marie Bellamy, Tonya Kimbrough; one special cousin, Liz Farmer; special friends, Roberteen Pettaway, Dorothy Staton, Glen Royal, Lorrain Roach, Marilyn Davis, Vicki Hardy, Mr. Samuel & Mrs. Rhumel Mosley, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
