Ethel was born December 19, 1921 in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of Earl W. and Kathryn Davies Baxter. She married Leonard Everett Belote on December 8, 1943 at her parents' rural home east of Jacksonville. He survives.
She is survived by two sons, Mike (Joni) Belote and James (Patty) Belote; four grandchildren, Jeffry, Eric, Elizabeth and Todd (Shelly); and two great-grandsons, Jace and Ryan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Baxter.
She taught home economics in high schools at Viola and Murrayville, Illinois and served as Home Advisor (later called University of Illinois Extension Agent) in Green County.
Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
