Bill graduated from Plainview High School, class of 1963, and attended Southern Oklahoma State University. During his studies, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served during Vietnam. After returning home, he finished his Bachelors in 1971 and later earned a Masters Degree in Education.
He and the former Carolyn Beth Proctor were married August 27, 1965.
Bill worked for Vickers Refinery and also drilled water wells. He taught and retired from Lone Grove Schools in 2000. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Kenneth Wayne George, and his sister and brother-in-law Connie and Johnny Hartman.
