Mrs. Bird passed away at home on Thursday, November 7, 2019. She lived most of her life in Trenton and Ewing, NJ, having graduated from Princeton High School. She married Ivan Frank Bird, MD in August 1940 while a student nurse at Trenton Mercer Hospital. Marjorie lived a long and active life. She was an avid golfer and a talented organist. Her community activities were many and varied. She was active for over 55 years in the General Mercer Chapter DAR, and Aloha Chapter, where she served as Hawaii State Regent from 1989-1992. Marjorie Butcher Davison Bird EWING Marjorie Butcher Davison Bird, 99, of Ewing, NJ, passed away at home on Thursday, Nov.7, 2019. Marjorie grew up in half of her grandfather, George Davison's, farmhouse in Plainsboro, NJ. She lived most of her life in Trenton and Ewing, having graduated from Princeton High School. She married Ivan Frank Bird, MD in August 1940 while a student nurse at Trenton Mercer Hospital. Marjorie has lived a long and active life. She was an avid golfer and loved to play her organ. Throughout her life her community activities have been many and varied. She was a member of the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, Lady Debora Moody Chapter, and Rancocas Valley Chapter. Marjorie has been active for over 55 years in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, General Mercer Chapter DAR, and Aloha Chapter (Hawaii) DAR. Over the years she has served in many Officer and Chairmanship positions, having finally served as Hawaii State Regent from 1989-1992. Predeceased by her parents, William Wilson Davison and Helen Stults Butcher Davison; her husband of 54 years, Ivan Frank Bird, MD; her son, Dennis W. Bird; her granddaughter, Cynthia Robinson Grayson; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Davison Bain and William Bain; and her brother, Donald Davison. Marjorie is survived by her daughters; her granddaughter; her grandson; her grandson-in-law; her great-granddaughter and her husband; her several nephews; and her niece. Burial services will be private. A memorial service in celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at a later date at Holy Apostles' Episcopal Church in Yardville, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marjorie's memory to the charity of the donor's choice or Holy Apostles' Episcopal Church, 1040 Yardville Allentown Road, Hamilton, NJ 08620.
