Mrs. Hardin was a native of Wilkinson County but made her home in Baldwin County. She was a retired nurse's aid at Middle Georgia Hospital and Chaplinwood Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late D.J. and Mattie Louise Veal Spivey. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and was a cancer survivor.
Survivors include her husband Ronald Hardin of Milledgeville, sons Chip Knighton (Linda) of Warner Robins, Keith Knighton (Becky), of Milledgeville, Andy Knighton (Jennifer) of Warner Robins, Greg Knighton (Cynthia) of Byron, and Steve Hardin of Macon, daughters, Phyllis Lyles of Cochran, Donna Williams of Macon, and Kathy Jones (Troy) of North Carolina, brothers Ricky Spivey and Sonny Spivey of Milledgeville, sister Sue Lord of Dublin, 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
