Michael Unversaw, a pioneer gardener of this city, died Wednesday evening about 8:30 at the Central hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a patient since November. Had Mr. Unversaw lived until March 17th he would have been eighty-seven years old.
He is survived by six children – three daughters, Mrs. Dennis Parker, Mrs. John Northern, Mrs. George Quakenbush, all of this city, and three sons – G. M. Unversaw, this city, Andrew Unversaw of Indianapolis, Henry Unversaw of Franklin, and Lewis of St. Lous, and two sisters – Mrs. Celia Zemer of Indianapolis and Eliza Axt of Franklin.
Mr. Unversaw was born in Germany and came to this country when seven years old with his parents, since which time has lived in and near this city. He spent most of his time on his farm north of this city. Mr. Unversaw joined the Christian church when quite young. He was twice married. His first wife was Julia Ann Hensley. To this union was born one son, John.
After her death he married Susan Stuck, who departed this life April 18th 1909. Another son, Elijah, and a daughter, Susan, died several years ago.
The remains were brought from Indianapolis on the 1:13 car Thursday and were taken to the home of his son, G. M. Unversaw, east of this city, where the funeral services were held at 1:00 this afternoon.
The interment was made at the Williams cemetery, north of this city, the Odd Fellows being in charge of the funeral and burial.

Indiana State Board of Health Certificate of Death No. 151 for Indianapolis, Marion County records Michael Unversaw, an 83 year, 11 months and 8-day old widowed white male, died about 7:55 p.m. on 22 February 1911, due to "Broncho Pneumonia."
Parents - Andrew Unversaw, and Elizabeth Lathrick, both born in Germany.
Informant - Andrew Unversaw, son.
Burial - Williams Cemetery in Martinsville Morgan County on 24 February 1911, Beck and Hurley of Indianapolis, undertakers.
