He retired from the U.S. Army, and attended Concord Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clyde Hood and Annie Mae Austin Hood; granddaughter, Kirstie Elizabeth Cochran; two brothers and a sister. Surviving are his sons, Richard Ivie Hood (Chinhui) and Michael Anthony Hood (Ashley); daughters, Kasondra Lynn Hood Henry (Tony) and Stacie Denise Hood Cochran (Chris); brother, Larry Hood; sisters, Jo Ann Shortt and Elaine Grant; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
