HOWARD, Janet L. (nee: Brehm), 79 of Lebanon, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends at Bethesda North Hospital after a lengthy battle with respiratory issues.
Janet was born August 15, 1938 in Hamilton, OH to Genevieve (nee: Lucas) and Merle Brehm. She graduated from Mount Healthy High School and attended the University of Toledo. She retired from General Electric after 38 years of service in Accounting. Jan met no stranger, had a heart and passion for animals, exuded kindness to everyone, had a quick wit and great sense of humor. She loved scratch-off lottery tickets, reading, tennis and travel.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Frank York and her daughter, Tammy Sweeney.
Janet is survived by her lifelong partner, Sandy Murphy of Lebanon, son, Randy (Robyn) Howard of Middletown, two daughters, Laura DiMattei of Lebanon and Christen (Scott) Chamberlain of Rogers, AR. Jannie will be dearly missed by her sister, Jean Schlabach of Hamilton and by her grandchildren, Josh Howard, Megan Howard, Jamie Bube, Ellie Berndt, Charlotte DiMattei, Nicholas Chamberlain, Lola DiMattei, Drew Chamberlain and Brooks Chamberlain; four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and her beloved dog, Beau and cat, Lucy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7th from 6:00PM-7:00PM with a service beginning at 7:00PM all at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Lung Association or the ASPCA. Online condolences at www.hoskinsfh.com.
