Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Lehnertz, 71, lifetime resident of Deuel county, were held from the First Methodist Church here Saturday, April 2. The Rev. Ronald Hartung, pastor, officiated at the rites at 2:00 p.m., and Mrs. Ronald Hartung was soloist for the deceased's favorite hymns: :Safe in the Arms of Jesus:, Abide With Me and Nearer My God to Thee. Mrs Lee Hansen played processional and recessional music and accompanied the soloist. Burial was beside her husband in the family plot on Grand View cemetery here under the direction of Hanks Funeral Home of Clear Lake. Pallbearers were J.M. Mortensen, T.W. Hinsvark, John Lytle, Don Steinle, James Cole, and Harvey Schulte. Mrs. Lehnertz died in Deuel County Hospital, Clear Lake, on Wednesday, March 30, at 5:37 p.m. She had been in failing health since a year ago last December when she was seriously ill with pneumonia. She was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon of last week when she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage while fisiting Mrs. John Larson. About 10 o'clock that night she lapsed into a coma from which she never roused. All her children, called at her request, were present when death came.
Rosa wanted everyone to call her Taunte which is the German word for Auntie.

Rosa lived in Moritz and Gary, where her husband Nick Lehnertz ran elevators.
