Mrs. Krebs was born April 7, 1918 in Nashville, Ohio, the daughter of William F. and Cora V. (Smail) Smith. She was a former cook for The Inn in Ashland for eight years, retiring in 1980. She had also worked at the Faultless Rubber Co. and Brethren Care Center.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Florence and Dale Echelberger of Hayesville; sons and daughter-in-law Wayne and Joanne Krebs of Polk, and Kenneth Krebs of Columbus; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vera “Toots” Metsker of Wooster.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred P Krebs on August 24, 1995, a brother, Lawrence Smith and a sister, Geneva Root.
Funeral services are today at 11 a.m. on the Byerly-Linsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with Chaplain Gerald Gess officiating. Burial will be in the Vermillion Cemetery, Hayesville. Visitation was Monday evening and will be for the hour before today’s service.
