James William Bryan, 71, of Choudrant, passed away on March 11, 2022, after a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Beulah Community Church, 388 Beulah Church Road, Calhoun, LA with Dr. Lynn Malone officiating the service. Interment will follow Beulah Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time at the church Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

James was born on September 8, 1950, to O.C. and Joyce Bryan on Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines.

James joined the United States Air Force after high school and served as a Sergeant during the Vietnam conflict working as a LoadMaster on C-130 aircraft.

After 6 1/2 years of service, James returned to Choudrant and joined Olincraft Corporation in West Monroe. He worked at now Graphic Packaging for 37 years as a printing press operator retiring in 2013. James along with his wife raised broiler chickens for 40 years and Angus cattle for 35 years with his brother Warren.

James was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Orlan John Bryan.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bonnie DeBold; son, William (Billy) and wife Angela (Anji); daughter, Jennifer Williamson and husband William (Scott); grandchildren, Bryan Scott and Etta Grace Williamson; brothers, Warren and Edwin Bryan.

Pallbearers will be Warren Bryan, Edwin Bryan, Preston Bryan, Craig Bryan, Jimmy Pitts, and Joshua Pitts.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Beulah Community Church (mailing address: 618 Haney Smith Rd, Choudrant, LA 71227).
