Dennis Randell Tucker, 60, of English, Indiana died Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was on the farm doing one of the things he loved most. Driving his tractor and feeding hay to his cattle. Dennis was the first born child to Don and Daisy Tucker of Taswell, Indiana. He arrived Sunday May 14, 1961.

This particular Sunday was also Mother's Day that year and a better gift could never have been received. It was a sunny Spring Day with fine temperatures, a high of 82 and a low of 58 degrees with a perfect dew point of 61.42 for finishing the hay field before the approaching first cutting. Thankfully his arrival did not effect the cutting of hay!

Dennis attended English Elementary School and Crawford County High School. His High School Transcript shows that he received straight A's and only missed 1.5 days his entire four years of high school. Family members think it was because the road or bridge was out and the bus couldn't get to them. Dennis was a member of Future Farmer's of America, serving as the F.F.A. President senior year, National Honor Society, Spanish Club and male senior voted "Most Likely to Succeed". As well as Valedictorian of his graduating class of 1979. He attended Purdue University from August of 1979 to December 18, 1982 graduating one semester early. He told his wife he "had to get out of the city". He was a "Distinguished Student" according to his Purdue Academic Transcript. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics. And of course, Dennis held a job while attending College in the "city". Dennis had a brilliant, quirky and quite stubborn mind and was noted for his "colorful dysphemism's". These were just a few of the traits that made him a very special human being to so many of us.

After college Dennis held a brief career as a loan officer at the English State Bank. He then went into milking cows with his father, Don. After that he spent a decade in construction work and was a member of the Laborer's Local Union 795, New Albany, Indiana. In May of 2005 he fulfilled his lifetime dream and became a full time farmer and sawmill operator and did so until his untimely death.

Dennis Married Ainsley Orman Bauer, of Eckerty, on Saturday March 19, 2005 on the farm where they lived together for 18 years. He enjoyed farming, sawing timber and just plain hard work in general. He loved his cows, his hay, his tractor and his wife. The order of which could change daily depending on his temperament! His soon to be wife came with her dogs to live on the farm in 2004 and he became a true dog lover. Dennis also loved his family especially his nieces and nephews. For some inexplicable reason children loved and were drawn to Dennis. In time all of our happy memories will far outweigh the pain because above all Dennis Tucker was memorable.

Dennis was preceded in death by his talented and nurturing mother, Daisy (Archibald) Tucker, of Taswell, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife, Ainsley Orman Tucker, his father, Donald Tucker, his brother, Darrell Tucker, three sisters, Donna Smith, Doretta Tucker and Debby Jo Sturgeon, two brother in laws, Robert Smith and Gene Sturgeon all of English and Taswell, Indiana.

Dennis (almost) everyone's favorite uncle is survived by his nieces, nephews, great and extended nieces and nephews. Dawn, Joe, Brooklynn, Brycen, Dan, Landan, Derek, Shooter, Kortlin, Kashton, Kaiden (KJ), Desarae, Abe, Heaven, Kaulan, Claire, Dusty, Meghan, Scarlett, Tucker, Max, Sara, Jada, Tyson, "Little Turtle", Jen, Lander and Evelyn. (listed in no particular order)

A visitation and viewing were held Monday March 14th at Denbo Funeral Home in English, Indiana.
