Jo was always so much fun to be with, she was so funny and a great personality, everybody loved Aunt Jo.
She was so smart and willing to help anyone at any time. When Grandma Smith had to go on dialysis, Jo Ellen and her sister-in-law Audrey learned how to operate the dialysis machine so Grandma could be at home instead of traveling the fifty miles to B'ham to have the procedure done. Jo came home from TX to help take care of her sister Betty in the last months of Betty's life which was so much help.
Jo married Larry Hughes from Calera and had 3 children. Larry Jr, Allen and Rhonda.
There is definitely an empty place that Jo once filled. She is missed terribly.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Rhonda, her parents and two sisters Vivian Loretta and Betty Sue. She is survived by her two sons, a sister Elsie Rudean and two brothers Noah Earl and John A Smith.
