Jonathan Darrell Green, 75, of Midway, died on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was born September 7, 1946 to Walter Mayford Green, and Laurabelle Brewster Green in Tams, WV.

In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by a sister, Illa Smith, and an adopted brother, James McCormick. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ceretha Wills Green, a daughter, Amanda Green, a brother, David Green and wife Brenda of Belding, MI, a sister, Janice Hatcher and husband Don of Omaha, NE, and many nieces and nephews. Darrell was a wonderful, caring, and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be missed more than any words could ever express. There were many things in this life he enjoyed, including selling bits, and watching his beloved, albeit frustrating, West Virginia Mountaineers and Cincinnati Reds. What Darrell would most want to be said about him though, is that he had a hope that was steadfast and sure, and that hope was in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Friends may gather with the family on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home to honor and celebrate Darrell's life. Viewing will begin at 12:30 pm, and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Robert A. Day officiating. There will be a reception to celebrate Darrell's life following the service at Family Worship Center in Beckley, WV.
