Catherine Louise (Davis) Morris, 87, of Pace, FL, passed away in her home, Saturday, March 5, 2022.
She was the first born to Sam G. and Inez (Wiggins) Davis on March 4, 1935 in Goodway, AL. The family moved to Pace when Catherine was 6 years old. She attended public schools in Santa Rosa County and graduated from Milton High School in 1955. She met a sailor boy, the love of her life, and they were married June 6, 1952.
Catherine worked at various jobs until 1972 when she went to work at Pace High School. She retired from there in 1998 with 26 years of service.
Catherine was a caring and loving mother, the matriarch of her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charly Morris; a son, Eugene Morris; a granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Morris; her parents, Sam & Inez Davis; a brother, Samuel L Davis; and her beloved in-laws, Jesse and Clara Morris.
Funeral services for Catherine will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Pace Assembly of God Church, with Rev Glynn Lowery, Jr officiating. Burial will follow in the Serenity Gardens Cemetery, and Lewis Funeral Home directing.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Vitas Hospice, Dr. Josh Davis and staff, the caregivers, and especially her loved Leanne Brown for the love and care they gave to their mother and sister, during her time of illness.
