Joyce Ellen Harris, age 71, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Joyce was born October 7, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas to Augustin Bernard and Ethel Dolores (Cash) Babcock. She attended Rosedale High School in Kansas City, Kansas and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wichita State University.

Joyce and David were married on May 11, 1974 and their work took them to different states including Kansas, Texas, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, but mostly Oklahoma. Joyce worked as a Registered Nurse in the newborn nursery at St. Luke's Hospital; NICU nurse at Texas Children's Hospital; Texas Institute Rehabilitation & Research; school nurse in Houston Independent School District.

Joyce loved spending time with her family and was always keeping an eye out for hummingbirds. She loved to bird watch, spend time with her grandkids, visits to Branson and watching movies. Her children learned practical things from her like how to cook and take care of children, but mostly they learned from her how to be honest, to be open-minded and to love unconditionally.

Joyce is survived by her husband David Harris; children Megan and Kyle Tietz of Oklahoma City, Emily Harris and Matt Massenburg of Dallas, Texas, Brandon and Robin Harris of Shreveport, LA, Sarah Harris of Waxahachie, TX; brother Galen Babcock of Kansas City, KS; sister Barbara and Pete Menefee of Wichita, KS; 9 grandchildren Dacey, AJ, John Kyle, Mack, Nikolaus, Brookelyn, Josiah, Naomi, Kadence; 1 niece; 2 nephews, caregivers Davonda, Theresa, Jackie and Jaxon and her kittys Punkin, Penny and Callie.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. A committal service will occur Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, 2648 Jake Dunn Road, Elgin, OK 73538.
