Larry attended Mims High School in McCormick, SC. He was a US Army Veteran and worked for the School Board of Howard County in Washington, DC before his retirement.

Larry's memories will cherished by his son, Jermell Walker of North Carolina. His mother, Gladys Wilson of Laurel, MD, His brother, Johnny Walker of Elkridge, MD. His sister, Gail Ross of Greenwood, SC. His Aunts; Addie Ruth White and Ola Mae Dansby both of Atlanta, GA, Annie Sue Tucker and Nelly Wary both of Columbia, SC. His uncles; Chris Dansby of Capital Heights, MD and William Dansby of Washington, DC. His special friend, Elizabeth Bruce of Greenwood, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by his uncles; Timothy Dansby, Leroy Dansby, Robert Lee Dansby and Thomas Dansby and his aunts; Hellen Yeldell, Mozell Foster, Elizabeth Freeman and Cee Bell Walker.
