He was a veteran of WWII, a member of the 8th Air Force, 385th Bombardment Group, 550 Squadron. He became a prisoner-of-war at Stalag XVII B Krems, Austria after flying 29 B-17 missions. He retired after 37 years from Otis Elevator Company.
