Beloved Kathleen Elizabeth Kennedy Richardson, 73, a resident of Mobile for more than 65 years, received her Heavenly wings and rests eternally with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 11, 2022. Kathy was born in Marquette, Michigan on February 1, 1949, to Delbert Roland and Betty Wade Kennedy. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Carolyn Sturgeon Kennedy and stepbrother Bill Welgos.

Kathy is survived by beloved husband Darryl Thomas Richardson, daughter Meredith Antone Allums-Curry (Francis Michael Curry "Frank"), and grandchildren Michael Brian Curry, and Caitlin Elizabeth Curry, all of Mobile, AL; brothers Glenn F. Kennedy, of Maplesville, AL, and William C. Kennedy (Victoria), of Key Largo, FL; nephews Sam Kennedy, Victor Kennedy (Selena), Cullen, Cody, Carson Kennedy, and Victor Welgos; niece Lyndsy W. (Ara) Anjargolian; great nephews Jamie, George, and Julian Kennedy, Aeon and Eero Anjargolian.

Kathy was a graduate of Vigor High School, Prichard, AL. She attended the University of Alabama. Kathy was retired from Kiker Corporation where she was a long-time project manager in the roofing industry. She was a Past President of the Mobile Jaycettes where she volunteered for many years. Kathy also served as a volunteer at Kindred Hospice where the patients she visited loved her positive attitude and happy spirit which was uplifting for them. Kathy's love of travel took her, Darryl, and close friends on memorable trips to countries including England, Ireland, and Scotland to attend the 2002 British Open in Muirfield, Scotland. Kathy loved to plan trips with longtime girlfriends to visit cities in Greece, France, and Italy. She and Darryl enjoyed taking cruises with close friends. One favorite was a Bahama cruise with more than 20 friends to celebrate the 50th birthdays of Kathy and close friend Tommy Tucker.

Kathy was an incredible hostess and enjoyed entertaining family and friends during the holidays. Her family relationships and lifelong friendships are a testament to her character and generosity. Kathy was loved by all who were privileged to know her. She was affectionately "Granny" to her grandchildren and "Aunt Granny" to her nieces and nephews. She will always be greatly loved and greatly missed.

There will be a private Celebration of Life Service for the family and close friends, officiated by the Reverend Dr. Donald W. Winslett, husband of Kathy's sister in-law Sandra R. Winslett, Pensacola, FL.
