Wendy was born Jan. 8, 1955, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Winston and Lois Watson. Wendy was the oldest of four children. She grew up in Vinton, Iowa, where she graduated high school in 1973. She attended the University of Iowa. After college, Wendy managed Betty's Fashions in Vinton for her mom and Aunt Doris Meredith. She later moved to Minneapolis, Minn., and became a sales representative for women's clothing, shoes and handbags for over 40 years. Wendy loved her job, coworkers and customers. Wendy retired in 2019 and loved spending time with family and friends, gardening and decorating. She also loved watching the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes.
Wendy is survived by her mom, Lois Watson; sisters, Lisa Sweeting and Erin Krehbiel (Jake); brother, Winston (Donna); stepmom, Nancy Watson; and nieces and nephews, Betsy Sweeting, Brook Sweeting, Gabriel Watson, Koen Krehbiel, Winston Krehbiel, and Isla Krehbiel. She was preceded in death by her dad, Winston Watson; and brother, Wade Watson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Whitey's Bar and Grill in Lisbon, IA, on Saturday, April 9, at 1 p.m.
