Laid to rest on 16 April 1968. Unfortunately the grave was closed in 2010. The grave should have stood in my opinion considering her Jewish background. And considering that most if not all Jewish graves in Germany are protected and under historical protection laws. Unfortunately the city admin failed to recognize this and closed the grave when the lease expired.
The City of Arolsen needs to figure out a way to honor this woman. If they are short of ideas, they can feel free to reach out to me. If I sound a bit upset, I am.
Living thru an incredibly difficult time as a Jewish woman and losing her beloved Christian husband to the Third Reich is unimaginable. My Grandfathers brother was her husband and my Grandfather was the one that prevented her from being transported with other family members to a concentration camp and oversaw her safety until the end of WWII. I have outlined more on her husband's bio. These are the untold stories of World War II.
