On Thursday, March 10, 2022, April Nicole Martar Carpenter, 39 of Hot Springs, AR lost her battle to Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer. She was welcomed with open arms by her mother, Angelia Martar Rice, who died way too young; her grandparents Carl and Joyce Martar, who raised her to be the wonderful woman that we all know and love; her sister-in-law, Jennifer Hicks Carpenter who was also her best friend and shopping buddy; her loving and supportive in-laws, Zanie Kay and Tommy Carpenter, and grandparents Vernon and LV Clifton.

She leaves behind her soulmate of 22 years, Joshua Carpenter; children Summer (Mitch) Raney of Lake Village, Sutton (Ojami), Kaitlyn and Mason Carpenter, all of Hot Springs; sister Caprice (John) Smith of Oak Grove, LA, and brother Jonathan (Brittany) Craven of Sheridan; nieces Marissa, Haddie, and Dalis; nephews Aaron, Ben, Caden, Cole and Gannon; grandchildren Freya and Asher; father Clifford Clifton; and numerous aunts, uncles, friends, and USPS friends of Hot Springs.

Er'ybody, Er'ybody whoever met her fell madly in love with the crazy fun woman who had inner light brighter than her smile. The best sister mama there ever will be. She loved her children, family, and friends, as well as shoes, purses, fancy dresses, anything Cheetah print, and calling the Hogs. Retail therapy was her preferred choice of self-medication, not wanting to be extra but boujee was a must. Now April is on her forever Carnival cruise to sandy beaches, sunsets, and Sting Ray City with unlimited drinks and deck parties to dance her night away.

Visitation will be at the Caruth Village Funeral Home chapel in Hot Springs Village, Saturday, March 12th from 5 - 7 p.m. Celebration of life will be at Jessieville First Baptist Church, Sunday, March 13th at 2:00 pm., with burial following at Kilgore Cemetery.
