"B.J." was born February 21, 1992, in Baytown, TX to Leonard R. Jones, Sr. and Carlette Jones. He attended Dayton High School where he was a star running back on the football team. He was also active on the weightlifting team. At an early age, four years old to be exact, "B.J." took a fond interest in Rodeoing. His father, "Bubba", taught him all that he knew about Calf Roping. This resulted in him earning prizes, buckles and other recognition in the Salt Grass Circuit based out of Anahuac, TX.
After graduating from high school, "B.J." briefly worked with his father in the family business. He later worked for various construction companies. He was employed by Vortech Construction at the time his departure.
"B.J." will be missed immensely, but he leaves precious cherished memories with his parents, Leonard R. Jones, Sr. (Patricia) and Carlette Jones, both of Dayton, TX; his daughters, Railyn Simone Jones and Nyomi Marie Jones, both of Dayton, TX; his sisters, Gwendolyn Barclay (Brian) of Peoria, AZ, and Renae Robinson of Dayton, TX; his grandmother, Dorothy Harmon of Beaumont, TX and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Calvary Mortuary Staff.
