The family went through the 1951 flood in Topeka, Kansas and resettled in Garnett, Kansas where she finished her schooling graduating Garnett High School May 1961. She moved to Topeka, Ks. and lived with her sister a short time and then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she lived with her older sister, Beverly and worked there for a few years. She moved back to Topeka where she began working for the Missouri Sinod Lutheran Church.
Peggy met and married Francis 'Frank' Hugh Martin on 23 Mar 1966 at the Missouri Sinod Lutheran Church in Topeka, Kansas. They had four children: Mark, Pamela, Katheryn, and Rebecca.
The family lived in Topeka, Carbondale, and Garnett, all in Kansas before moving to Oxnard, California and later Redding, California. After retirement they moved to Pahrump, Nevada and then on to Oklahoma near the Fort Smith, Arkansas border.
Peggy's husband, Frank died in 2012. She died 24 Dec 2021 and is buried with her husband in the Fort Smith National Cemetery, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
