Barry Merlin Barnes lived his life in Brooklyn, New York. He was born in Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York on January 16, 1967 to his mother Eleanor Malachi-Chillious and late father Gordon Delanda Barnes Sr. and departed this life on December 1, 2013.
Barry was self- employed as a Car Mechanic and Disc Jockey most of his adult life, but he was employed as a Dry Cleaning Presser Specialist. During his school years he was a dedicated, bright and popular student. As young boy he express his love for the Lord. During the family gatherings, he would always entertain the family by singing the gospel. He was full of life, happy go lucky and a giving soul.
Barry grew up with 10 siblings and there was a natural buddy system almost them. Barry and Sister Michelle shared that buddy system as siblings and shared so many stories about their funny and candid moments as they grew up and stuck together. If you ever felt the sunshine, Barry came walking in with a smile. Barry always projected how he was open and compassionate. You could always count on him if you needed him. As a youngster, everyone knew Barry on the block of Herkimer Street in Brooklyn, New York as "Big Bad Barry Boo Barnes" and knew to watch out for the kid who was riding his Big Wheel. The neighbors would quickly move away from the side walk as he sped by with his little car. He was very passionate about cars from that moment on and his career with cars was launched. Barry lived his life to the fullest and he lived it his way. He was proud to be a "Brooklynite to the Heart" of New York.
Barry leaves to cherish his memories: his loving daughter, Ny'Keda Merline Barnes, three sisters and two brother in laws, LaLen and George Thomas, Michelle and Phillip Tajuan Pone and Natasha Chillious, six brothers and sisters in laws; Derrick and Carol Malachi, Darren and Virginia Malachi, Blaine Malachi, Gordon Jr. and Karen Barnes, Octavius Malachi, and Timothy Mathew Barnes, forty nine nieces and nephews, sixteen great nieces and nephews, five Aunts: Aunt & Godmother Martha, Nancy, Teen, Brenda and Carol and so many cousins, friends and extended family members "especially his best friend/Uncle Joseph Daniels".
May the Blessing of the Lord be with Him
God Bless, May He Rest In Peace.
Barry's Homecoming… "A Celebration of His Life" to follow.
