Paul Anderson was born on November 4th, 1940 in Oakland, California. He grew up primarily in Alameda and Oakland but also lived in Grand Junction for a year. When Paul was 13 years old, the family bought a 10-acre farm in Vacaville. Paul graduated from Vacaville High School in 1958, then went to Vallejo Jr. College for two years. In 1960, Paul joined the US Navy and served in Japan for four years. After leaving the Navy, Paul went to San Diego State University for four years. While he was getting his degree, Paul worked at a mortuary at night to put himself through college. He graduated April in 1964 with a Microbiology degree and a minor in Zoology and Chemistry. During this time, Paul met Kathryn Jacobs at First Baptist Church in San Bernardino and dated her. On June 13th, 1970, the two married and moved to Chico where Paul got a job at Enloe Hospital as a lab technician. Paul had two daughters and a foster daughter during this time and attended Neighborhood Church. As a family, we frequented Cozy Diner, Perko's, and Italian Cottage on Friday evenings. Paul was known for loving the 49ers football team, being an avid reader, telling crazy jokes, and investing. In 2005, Paul retired from Enloe after 35 years. During this time, Paul attended Evangelical Free Church, traveled, played basketball, and visited the library. His favorite TV shows were Madam Secretary and Doc Martin. In January 2021, Paul moved into Prestige Assisted Living. Paul loved traveling, books, and trees. He planted redwood trees in his backyard.

Paul left behind his loving long-time girlfriend; Anna Skaggs, daughter; Karen Berryhill (Jason), daughter; Kristin Caywood (Fred), daughter; Robyn Young, and grandchildren; Ethan Berryhill, and Elisa Berryhill. Paul was a fantastic boyfriend, father, and grandpa. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Humane Society.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 22nd, 2022 at Evangelical Free Church of Chico 1193 Filbert Ave, Chico, CA 95926.
