Sports Journalist. For over 50 years he was considered Canada's most eminent sports writer and columnist. In 1942 he joined the Toronto Star as a sports reporter, was appointed sports editor in 1949, and wrote five columns a week until retiring in 1999 at age 94. He traveled the world covering every major sport event and the book "The Best of Milt Dunnell", published in 1993, contains 77 of his columns. In 1988 he received the Jack Graney Award for his contribution to baseball and the Sports Media Life Achievement Award in 1996. He is a member of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, Hockey Hall of Fame, Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame and the Football Reporters of Canada Hall of Fame.
