James Edward Burgess, age 77, of McDonough GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was born in Atlanta Georgia to the late James Lewis Burgess and Gertrude Rhoner Burgess. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Randy Burgess.
Eddie was a South Georgia boy, raised in Cordele, GA. He was an avid fisher and hunter, loved the outdoors, and had a unique interest in conservation and forestry. He spent his working career as well-respected employee of Delta Airlines. It was his job to host celebrity clients for Delta Airlines in the Crown Room. Through his career, he was able to experience many exciting moments, including meeting Elvis Presley. Everyone loved Eddie, he had a spirit that cared for everyone.

Eddie lived a rich and full life, he enjoyed sharing his experiences with others to help them along their journey. He mentored and sponsored many young men through AA and other organizations. He coached little league baseball, investing in the next generation, for over 20 years. He even took a team all the way to the World Series. Many will miss Eddie's advice, his stories, and all of his wisdom. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2022 in the West Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.
