Former Alturas resident Pauline T. Smith passed away at Wingfield Hills Health and Wellness, Sparks, Nevada on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife of Clinton Smith for 57 years and resided in Sparks, Nevada.

Pauline was born on November 25, 1931 in Ashland, Oregon to parents Paul and Thelma Decker. Alturas was her home for over 20 years and where her children attended school.

Pauline worked in the food industry as a cook for Huffaker Elementary School in Reno, Nevada and retired with her husband in 1991. She enjoyed camping with friends and family. Pauline's smile and big heart showed the world that love is the most cherished aspect of life. She will be missed by all who know and loved her, leaving with us a legacy of love and will remain "forever in our hearts."

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, her son, two sisters, a brother, and five grandchildren, along with numerous great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Theresa "Terry" Turner.

Pauline's final resting place will be by her husband Clinton's side, in Alturas, California.
