A TRUE "ROSIE THE RIVETER' IS GONE, 05-26-1924 to 02-03-2022
Elizabeth Lee worked on battleships at the Richmond Shipyards. She was the smallest one on her crew, so two men took her by the ankles and held her over the side to weld platforms upside down. In April of 2014, she was invited by then Vice-President, Joe Biden, to come to the White House to be honored as a real "Rosie the Riveter" but she was afraid to fly so she didn't go. So, for her 90th birthday, May 26, 2014, her daughter Susana notified the press about a "Rosie Party" at the Holiday Inn, and they covered her special day. She was also the Grand Marshall of the Old Timer's Parade the same year.

As a child her family worked in the orchards around Santa Clara County and in the fields of the San Joaquin Valley. Her parents purchased land in Madera in the 1940's; Elizabeth and her husband, along with her father built their own homes by hand.

She was a tax preparer, a secretary for a construction company; she owned a restaurant in Stockton. She worked in electronics as a semi-conductor tester in the Silicon Valley, she was a candymaker, and she bottled wine. She had her own trucking business with nine trucks. Since her children were grown, her trucks were her new babies. If you wanted to get a picture with her and a grandchild, you better put that child in front of one of her trucks! Later, she taught English as a second language. Elizabeth lived a very busy life up to her 97 years and 9 months. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee and Chinese Checkers with her friends and family.

Those that knew her loved her deeply. She had a vast knowledge of herbs. She learned their medicinal purposes from her Native American Grandmother. She was interviewed on the History Channel because she was a relative of Joaquin Murrieta that the movie "El Zorro" was based on.

Her parents moved from Tucson, Arizona from the Yaqui/Yoeme Tribe. Elizabeth was born in Los Angeles, California. She married and had six children, Cecilia Elizabeth, Cynthia Marie, Sylvia Ann, Larrie Lorenza, Robert Steven, and Susana Dolores.

Her grandchildren are from Cynthia Ramirez: Medina Ramirez, David Ramirez, Melanie Ramirez. From Sylvia Robles: Ted "Tito" Foley. From Larrie Osuna: Rudy Trujillo, Matthew Farhat, Delylah McDonald. From Robert Osuna: Steven Osuna, Samuel Osuna, Veronica Mora, Daniel Osuna. From Susana Mora: Ramon Alameda, Elizabeth Rosales, Pamela Abarca, María Guadalupe "Lupita" Amaton. She had 21 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren. To many of her Great Grandchildren she was known as Gigi. She passed peacefully with her daughter Susana Mora holding her hand.
