Janet Lee Tarkenton Reeves of Lubbock passed away peacefully on March 7th, 2022, at the age of 70. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday March 12th, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel in Plainview, Texas with Pastor Paul Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday March 11th, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel.

Janet was born on October 13th, 1951, in Lubbock, Texas to Charles Ray and Cora Lee (Garrison) Tarkenton. She attended school in Plainview, Texas and graduated from Plainview High School in 1970 but not before marrying the love of her life, Charles Reeves on November 25, 1969. Charles and Janet farmed in the communities of Levelland, Uvalde, and Edmonson, Texas. If you passed by the Reeves Farm, you would always see Janet and the kids helping along the way. From spraying cotton on the Lee Spider to driving the grain truck, she was never afraid to get her hands dirty, all the while maintaining a positive attitude.

Janet had health issues at a young age, and she chose the path of natural and alternative medicine for primary care. From her personal experience and Charles' health issues, she was able to help others lead a healthier life. Her journey created a passion for her to learn as much as possible about natural healing, which lead to the purchase of Nature's Way Health Food Store from Clarence and Doris Gaither in 1992. She had a selfless desire to help others overcome health issues just as she did.

Janet was known for her innovative decorating skills. She made sure her home and those of all her family and friends' homes were decorated with the latest styles all the while maintaining a thrifty budget. Janet loved to spend time with family at the lake, gather with friends and family, and later in life discovered the beach life. She loved her trips to the coast and picking up seashells with her daughter. She enjoyed spending time with her son and advising him with her impeccable business sense. Janet had a loving spirit that knew no strangers. She would help anyone in need. She impacted many lives through teaching Sunday School, owning a business, through her rental properties, and her involvement in the community and church.

Her legacy will continue through her children, son John Reeves and wife Cheryl, grandson Connor, all of Lubbock and granddaughter Makenzie of San Antonio; daughter Lacey Todd and husband James of Lubbock. She is also survived by her sister Carey Clingan, niece Mellissa O'Connor and husband Larry and their sons Keifer and Carson; niece Jennifer Gordon and husband John and their daughter Celina, all of Topeka, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Reeves, and sister Nicki Cates; and many precious aunts and uncles.
