Robert "Breeze" E. Burke passed away peacefully January 23, 2022 at his home in Inverness, FL following a lengthy illness.

He was born to the late Thomas Joseph and Anna Maria (O'Sullivan) Burke on March 17, 1933 in Olean, NY. An Army veteran and graduate of the University of Buffalo, he worked as a product and systems designer and was a small business owner.

He lived in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, FL for many years before moving to Citrus County with his family 30 years ago. A "free spirit" with an incredibly creative mind, Breeze was a talented artist and published author, penning dozens of short stories, songs, poems and books throughout his life. He also cared deeply about our planet, and he was an avid environmentalist who enjoyed keeping up with politics and world events. He will be remembered as someone who never met a stranger and who would make friends with absolutely everyone. Breeze was involved in his community and enjoyed participating in the Citrus County Council for many years.

Breeze was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his daughter, Kathleen Burke; his twin brother, Eugene Burke; and older brother, Thomas Burke (Betty). Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol, of nearly 43 years; his children, Brian Burke (Daun) of Ruskin, FL, Christina Cameron (Bruce) of Tampa, FL, and Andrea Hughes (Lee) of Tampa, FL; his brother, Michael Burke (Chris); his five cherished grandchildren, Makenzie, Madelynn, Blake, Connor and Phillip; and his several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Breeze will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Kramer of First United Methodist of Inverness officiating. A gathering of family and friends for a time of fellowship and remembrance will begin at 2 p.m. The family requests that attendees wear a shamrock or a bit of green in honor of Breeze's Irish heritage.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice. Cremation with Care is under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
