Mary was born on September 13, 1935, into the family of Joseph and Jennie (Kullas) McNally of Norwood, MA. She was the second of three sisters. Mary graduated from Norwood High School in 1953. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf in her younger years. She also enjoyed travelling and had a memorable trip to Germany.
Mary married Kevin Lane in 1968. Initially living in Newton, MA, she and Kevin enjoyed summer vacations on Pleasant Bay in Chatham. They frequently attended live musical performances at the Christopher Ryder House and the Woodshed in Brewster. They moved to Falmouth permanently in 1969.
Throughout the years, Mary and Kevin enjoyed hosting their families and friends for holidays and summer vacations. Easter was a special time when Mary's parents, sisters and their families all stayed at the house. Mary kept her nephews busy with puzzle making, walks to the harbor and beach, as well as Easter egg hunts.
Mary loved Falmouth and frequently visited the harbor to watch the boats and work on her crossword puzzles. At home she was always working on various jigsaw puzzles.
After a long career as a legal secretary, Mary devoted her time to volunteer work. She provided secretarial services to The Samaritans on Cape Cod and the Islands and later she spent many years helping out at Neighborhood Falmouth. It was here she met her good friend Jeanne Goulet who was a huge help to Mary in her final years.
Mary's husband passed away in 2009. She is survived by her sisters Joan Shaw of Vernon, CT, Judith Roberts of Enfield , CT and numerous Nephews, Nieces, Grand Nephews and Nieces and Great Grand Nephews and Nieces.
Visiting hours will be from 10AM – 11:30AM on Monday February 28, 2022, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 475 Main St., Falmouth, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12PM on Monday, February 28, 2022, at St. Patrick's Church, 511 Main St., Falmouth, MA. Burial will follow in the V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne, MA
