Author, Motion Picture Screenwriter. Born in Carlisle, England, he is best known for the "Flashman" adventure series of novels, which appeared from 1969 to 2005. After serving as an infantryman with the British Army during World War II, Fraser began his writing career as a journalist. In the 1970s and 1980s, he wrote or co-wrote numerous movie scripts including "The Three Musketeers" (1973), "The Four Musketeers" (1974), "Royal Flash" (1975), "Crossed Swords" (1977) and the James Bond film "Octopussy" (1983). His other notable books include, "Mr. American", "The Pyrates", "The Light's On At Signpost" and "The Reavers". He was the father of writer Caro Fraser.
