FREDERICKA RADER, 1824 – 1881
Note: Wife of John Rader; died of consumption. Louis Smith, lot owner.

1870 Census, MN, Blue Earth Co., Mankato, John Reeder, age 52, born Holland, farm laborer; Frederica, age 45, born Holland; Sophia, age 23, born France; Fred, age 17, born France; Mary, age 13, born France; Lewis, age 12, born France; William, age 12, born France; Anna, age 1, born MN; Emma, age 4, born IL

-------------------------
New information! Her parents were Heinrich/Heine/Henry(1799-1870) and Dorothea Sophia Schoff (1793-1872), who came over in 1856 along with Frederika and husband John, etc. Fredericka's siblings (Sophie, Wilhelm, John, Dorothea) also came with them, and the entire family joined her other two brothers in Proviso Township (later Oak Park), Cook Co, IL. They were some of the initial German settlers to the area, about 8 miles west of Chicago, where their son, Henry, and his family had built a home. I am not sure about the fourth son's name as yet, but family records have him included. Her parents, Henry (died at Oak Park), and Sophia (died at daughter Sophie's in Will Co, IL), are buried in possibly the Forest Home Cemetery, but I haven't been able to locate the graves as yet. Family information can be accessed in "Rader Meyer Family Tree" on Ancestry.com by request. SJ Rader @ [email protected]

Addit. Note:November, 2016. I found additional children: Ernst August Theodor, a twin to Frederick, born 15 Jul 1853 - died 15 Nov 1854, Miechenhagen, Mecklenburg, Germany; sister, Maria Lissette Henrike, born 8 Aug 1855, Miechenhagen - died on board ship while coming to America. Verbal family history has always said that Frederick had a twin, and that a baby had died on board ship, but I couldn't find records until now (German Baptisms). SJ Rader

Suggested edit: Birthdate is 2 Apr, not 10 Apr. See baptism record:
