SHANNON'S OBITUARY
Shannon Marie Finley Turner, loving wife, mother, sister and friend, died in faith on March 2nd after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family, who were the joy of her life and her lasting legacy.
Shannon was born on October 20, 1976 in Hastings, Minnesota before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma with her family in 1980. Shannon graduated from Hill Haven Christian Academy in 1995. In December 1997, Shannon met her husband, Darren and they were married on May 22, 1999.
Shannon had a servant's heart, always putting the needs of family and friends above her own. She loved spending time with her four children, attending their sporting events and school activities. In her free time, Shannon enjoined reading dramas and historical fictions, with many works featuring strong female characters. Her strength was evident to all as she bravely endured cancer for over ten years.
She is preceded in death by her father, Douglas Kenneth Finley; and Grandparents Henry and Elva Dearman.
She is survived by her husband, Darren Turner; son Garrett Turner and wife Jaden; son Ethan Turner; daughters Sophia Turner and Ella Turner; mother Carolyn Peebles; sister Denise Anderson and husband Dwayne; brother Kenny Finley; sixteen nieces and nephews; and extended family.
A memorial service will be held on March 25th at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Mustang, 928 North Mustang Road, Mustang, OK.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Agape Road Hospice (agaperoad.org) in Bethany, Oklahoma.
