Pat attended Maple Street Baptist Church with her family and attended for many years. She was a part of the Adult Choir at Maple Street and enjoyed singing on Sunday's. It was in this group that she formed many friendships that spanned years and countless memories.

Pat and Melvin spent over 30 years growing their love for each other, marrying in February of 2001. Pat was a devoted partner and wife who loved her husband. In 1992, Patricia was blessed with the birth of her daughter, Ashley Lynne Lewis. In 1994, she was blessed with the birth of her son, Tyler Charles Jacobs-Lewis. She incredibly proud of them both and all that they were doing with their lives.

Pat, along with her family, were always by her father's side when he coached his sports teams. Pat was also a proud participant in the Elks Club and held a rank within the organization. Additionally, she was a member of the Knights of Pythias.

Pat worked at Hy-Vee, UPS, Des Moines Public Library and Blue Cross Blue Shield during her life and was at each organization for 10 plus years. Pat was an incredibly hard worker and was an asset to any organization she was a part of.

Pat was smart, introverted, kind, and funny. She always had a smile on her face. She loved all of the people that she let into her life, even if you didn't hear or speak with her for a while, when you saw her, it was like no day had gone past. Pat was a family woman and was the matriarch of her family. She loved her children and would bring them up to anyone that would listen.

Pat and Terrie had a strong bond and cared deeply for each other. Pat would always have advice to help Terrie with anything she had going on. Pat's friendships evolved over time to the point that they were truly family to her, and these relationships were irreplaceable in her life.

Pat went peacefully onto her eternal home on November 26, 2021. Pat went to be with her father Charles Collins, mother Alberta Collins, and Aunt Helen Lowery. Grandparents Blanche and Lonnie Rogers, and John and Hattie Collins.

Pat's memory and life lives on through her husband, Melvin Haywood Lewis; her children, Ashley Lynne Lewis and Tyler (Brooklynn) Jacobs-Lewis; her sister, Terrie (Dennis Anderson) Collins and her close cousin Joe (Debbie) Clark Jr. Also cherishing her memory is a host of extended bonus family and friends.
