Age 90 of Indiana Township on Saturday, March 5, 2022, after a courageous, lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease, Mary went home to be with the Lord. Mary was born May 20, 1931, the eldest daughter of Alfons and Mathilda Schlosser. She was raised in the Parkview area of O'Hara Township and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Sharpsburg. While attending the prom on a double date with friends, Mary soon realized that she was attracted to Jim Wagner, her friend's date. The feeling was mutual, and they married in 1951. After their marriage and the arrival of several children, Jim built his growing family a cozy German-style home in celebration of their shared heritage. Subsequently, they filled their home with children, animals, and love. Christmas was an especially joyous time with a home overflowing with family, children, food, and humble gifts. Mary was a devoted mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, and belonged to several couples and ladies' bowling leagues. Mary and Jim joined St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Glenshaw where she remained a parishioner for over 65 years. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Christian Mothers, Middle Road Fire Hall Ladies Auxiliary, and a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. She was a diligent worker who always had a pretty smile for everyone. Mary's love for children overflowed especially for her grandchildren who she enjoyed spoiling and could do no wrong in her eyes. Mary was married for 45 years until Jim's death in 1997. She is survived and missed by her children: Patricia (Bill Marshall), John, Rick (Mary Alice), Tim (Renee), Becky (Bill Meglio), and Dale (Bobbi Jo); grandchildren: Nettie; Jim, Gretchen, Greg and Jamie; Katie; Lacey, Ryan, and Kyle; Shannon; Tori, Lexi, and Will; great-grandchildren: Connor and Ashlin; Ben, Elliot, and Oliver; Scarlet and Shelby; Rose and Violet; Nolan, Charlee, and Wyatt; Mason. She is also survived by her siblings, Paul Schlosser, Rose Michalowski, Tom Schlosser, and her many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Jeff, and brother, Herb. Afflicted with Alzheimer's and unable to care for herself, it is a tribute to her as a wonderful mother that her seven children cared for her daily for the last 10 years. Although Alzheimer's stole memories from her, she always smiled at the sight of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom she took great pride. Her love and devotion will live on in them. They are her legacy. She also held strongly to her faith and her love and devotion to her Lord, Jesus Christ. She frequently prayed coherently when no other words would come, and watching Holy Mass gave her much-needed solace. God bless her.
