A life well lived may be the best way to describe the life and passing of Mrs. Margie Britt Wallace who died late Tuesday afternoon, February 22, 2022 at the age of 88. Funeral services for Mrs. Margie will be Friday, February 25th at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy McAdams and Rev. William Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Palestine Cemetery.

Mrs. Wallace, the widow of Bobby Gene Wallace for the last fourteen years, was born on Friday, August 25, 1933, one of five children born to the late Hubert and Edna Hart Britt. She lived her entire life in the Palestine community and led a full life. Margie had many talents; she loved to quilt, an avid gardener, enjoyed oil painting, arranging flowers, an expert seamstress who could make clothes and did alterations for many who lived in the county. Each Fall you could see examples of her work and the many blue ribbons she won at the county fair. If you knew Mrs. Margie personally, you always knew her love of others, her pleasant smile and how she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchild. The 1st Sunday in June, Decoration Day at Palestine was important to her as well. She loved reuniting with friends and family that weekend and especially the Sunday meal with family.

Surviving Mrs. Wallace are her two daughters, Emily Wallace Stambaugh and husband Dave and Glenda Wallace Sumler and husband Dennis who she lived with for the last six years; grandchildren: Sarah Stambaugh, Morgann Stambaugh, Caleb Stambaugh and wife Brianne, and Blaine Sumler; a great grandson, William Stambaugh. Mrs. Margie also has two siblings who survive her: Bill Britt and Marie Britt Garner. Preceding her in death were a grandson, TSgt Seth Stambaugh, her brother, Paul Britt, a sister, Sue Britt Dyer and an infant brother, Robert Britt.
