Robert M. Kelly, 80, of Edison died on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Bob spent his childhood years in Keyport and later graduated from Metuchen High School. He resided in Edison for 61 years. He was employed by State Insulation in Perth Amboy before his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Metuchen and had coached at Edison Boys Baseball for many years.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Jacqueline (nee Laufer); a daughter, Deborah Valeriani and her husband, John; a son, Robert M. Kelly Jr. and his wife, Patricia; five grandchildren, Danielle Chuisano and her husband Mike, Michael, Mackenzie, Thomas, and Johnathan; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Carly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2022, from 2 PM until 6 PM at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home 568 Middlesex Ave. (RT 27) Metuchen. Services will take place on Monday, February 28, 2022, at 9:45 AM from the funeral home followed by a 10:15 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral; entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
