Arthur retired from the Alachua county school board and was known for Fishing and He leaves to cherish his memories his children; Albert Smith, Mae Helen Gaskins, Evelyn Orozco, Darrell Smith, Vanessa Smith, and Arthur James Jr. He was preceded in death by 2 Daughters Debra and Sharon Smith and a son Michael Smith. Mr. Smith's viewing will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 in the Clarence Williams III Viewing Room at D. Williams Mortuary Services, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grass Lawn Cemetery off of Northwest 13th Street in Gainesville.
