Betty was born September 29, 1933 in Picher, OK to Cecil and Eva (Osgood) North. She had lived in the Picher area all of her life before moving to Afton.
Betty owned and operated Betty's Dairy Inn in Picher from 1969 to 1984 and Picher Floral from 1984 to 2008. She was a member of Zincville Baptist Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Tyree on August 1, 2020, 2 infant children, Joey Emmanuel Tyree and Patty Elaine Tyree, her parents, 4 brothers, Jimmy North, Cecil North, Jr., Donny North and Kenneth North and 2 sisters, Bobbe Burnett and Judy Garner Vanderflute.
