Charles F. "Charlie" Nichols, 95, of Yorktown, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital.

Charlie was born on January 29, 1927, in Muncie to the late Virgil and Geneva Nichols. He attended Yorktown High School. Charlie was a United States Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific and Panama during WWII. Charlie retired from R.W. Howe Corp. and had also worked for Lift-A-Lot and Marhoefer Packing. He was a member of the American Legion. Charlie enjoyed iron sculpting and woodworking. He enjoyed making canes and giving them to family and friends.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Nola Nichols; two children, Pamela Beeman (husband Michael) and Jackie Barnett; a step-son, Jeff Deetz; three grandchildren, Missy Godwin (husband Rob), Angie Coleman (husband Rob), and Mika Roach; three step-grandchildren, Kenneth, Michelle, and Lisa Deetz; eight great-grandchildren, Kaylee Godwin, Katelynn Godwin, Kayla Godwin, Austin Godwin, Jordan Coleman, Gabriel Coleman, Alyssa Roach, and Wyatt Roach; a sister, Myrnajean Howe; nephew, Richard Howe; niece, Theresa Hoffer (husband David); and many cousins.

Charlie was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Nichols; brother-in-law, Richard Howe; and nephew, David Nichols.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, March 11, 2022, at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel. Military Honors will be held at 5:00 pm Friday, by the Veteran's of Delaware County Honor Guard.
