On Wednesday March 2, 2022, Michael Gayle Clark, loving husband, and father of four children passed away at age 82.

Mike was born March 16, 1939, to Cleo and Laurel Clark in Lubbock, Texas, where he attended Texas Tech University before serving his country in the U.S. Navy.

On May 3, 1964, he married the love of his life, Perpetua S. Jacques in California, where they raised four children, Michael, Diane, Clifton and Melinda.

He built a career at AT&T where he worked for 37 years and much like his marriage to Perpetua, his loyalty and passion to commitments were a cornerstone to his character.

Mike's unconditional love for his family was made known to anyone who met him and if you were lucky enough to be called family you felt an intensity and vigor with his hugs and "I love you's."

His hobbies were always people driven as he loved to help anyone in need, "You Betcha" was a phrase that flowed from his mouth faster than most could ask for what they needed. He was a lifelong learner always reading and exploring history, science, and aviation books, that assisted him in becoming a mechanic, electrician, plumber, carpenter, and anything his family needed. Mike and his wife, Perpetua worked countless hours at the Caring Place in Georgetown, Texas, where they felt a strong connection to their community and a devotion to helping others.

Mike's battle with serious medical conditions in recent years demonstrated his courage in facing challenges with a smile or joke. Despite the pain he suffered, he never passed the opportunity with his quick wit to make those around him laugh and smile, a trait that has been passed on to his children and grandchildren.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Cleo, mother, Laurel, and brothers, Jim and Robert.

He is survived by his wife, Perpetua, his four children, Michael, Diane, Clifton, Melinda, his grandchildren, Jake, Sydney, Mason, Joey, Collin, Lauren, Megan, his great-grandchild, Emery, his brothers, David, Bill and sister, Beth.

At Mike's request there will be an intimate ash scattering ceremony with his wife and children at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or food please send memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society at Alzheimers.org.
