Born on September 23, 1930, at Sprague, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Pittman and Gertrude Garrison Pittman.
Mrs. Ball has worked as a home nutrition aide for low-income families and was employed for twenty five years as a school bus aide for disabled children in the Raleigh County School System.
After retirement, she became a demo representative for the Kroger Company. She was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God, and loved working in her flower garden, feeding birds, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freeland Ball Jr; daughter, Judith Cook; sons, Freddie Cook and Bobby Ball; grandchildren, Joshua Cook and Bobby Joe Ball, II.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children, Bill Cook of Beckley, Karen Lee and husband David of Fincastle, Virginia, Freeland Ball III and wife Reba of Roanoke, Virginia, and Donna Ball of Beckley. A sister, Fay Coleman of Beckley; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Ball of Beckley also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 1 PM with Rev. Scott Pittman officiating, with a eulogy by Sherry Ball. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 9 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
